Discount is one of the most lucrative things that attract customers to any website. The more the percentage or value of the discount, the more customer you will attract. According to stats, more than 64% of customers wait for products to go on sale.
However, there are various ways by which you can offer discounts to your customers, one of them being creating a customer group. By creating a customer group, you can add various criteria and options to avail discounts.
Further, you can define the type of discount, amount, customer group, minimum cart value, etc. You can preset all these in the Odoo POS Customer Groups Discounts.

Create Customer Group In Odoo With Various Filter
- In the Odoo backend, the admin can create customer group(s).
- Define criteria for users to be added to a customer group such as their sales count or sales amount.

- Provide a discount to customer group(s) as per preset filters.
- Give them discounts on the basis of different product categories or all products.

- Admin can set the minimum cart value for customers to avail the discount.
- Moreover, they can set the massage for using the discount on products.
- Configure discount products in the POS settings.
Customers Can Choose To Avail Discounts In Odoo POS
- Individual customers can also avail the predefined discount for the customer groups.
- These customers will get a popup asking them whether they want to avail discount or not.
- On accepting, a discount will automatically be applied to the billed amount.
Create Customer Group In Odoo Backend
- Define group names while creating the customer group.
- Add customers to the customer group to make them eligible for discounts.
- Select customers older than a particular date.
- Also, allow customers to be added if their purchase is more than the defined amount.
- Admin can also add customers based on their sales count.
- All the customers who fit the criteria will be automatically added in the customers' tab present at the bottom of the page.
- You can create multiple customer groups, and there can be repetitive customers in the group.
Create Discount For Customer Group In The Odoo Backend
- Choose the discount type means whether to apply a discount on all products, product category, and product (specific products).
- Choose between fixed and percentage discounts.
- On selecting a fixed discount, enter the amount offered as a discount.
- Similarly, on percentage discount, define the percentage you want to offer.
- Choose the customer group or groups to apply the discount.
- Also, choose the POS sessions to apply the discount.
- Further, define minimum cart value and short summary for discount.
Enables Customer Choose To Avail The Discount
- Customers can choose to use the discount or not.
- The discount will be offered as per the customer group of which the customer is a member.
- On accepting, the discount amount will automatically be deducted from the total.
- On the contrary, rejecting a discount makes no change in the price.
- Customers can pay the amount by the available medium.
- If the discount is applied, then in the generated invoice the customer can see the customer discount.
