Opencart Bulk Upload

For a well-established e-commerce store, the challenges of managing the store in every aspect are tough. One of them being, uploading products. The owner of such stores cannot manage to upload one product at a time as it will be a mere waste of time.

Therefore using the Opencart’s Bulk Upload, the admin/ store owner can upload products using CSV, XML, XLS in bulk.

• The products can be uploaded in bulk using CSV, XML, and XLS files without any hassle.
• It is a time-saving process and the admin will not have to waste time on uploading products manually.
• It enhances the efficiency of the store owner and increases the productivity of the store.
• There is less chance that erroneous mistakes will occur when uploading the products.
• If any changes need to be made in the product listings, it can be done on a mouse click.

Once the Opencart Bulk Upload module is successfully installed, the admin can set the status of the module to enabled or disabled. The admin also configures the settings for the Keyword Tab. The admin can set the status of the keyword tab as enabled or disabled.

• The status of the module needs to be enabled or disabled by the admin.
• Two cases arise if the status of the Keyword tab is set to Enabled.
• The admin will update the product and the SEO will comprise of SEO+Product Id.
• If the admin adds a new product, the SEO will contain the SEO provided and four random characters.
• On disabling the status of the Keyword tab, an error displays, and the product gets skipped.

Once the configurations are set for the Opencart Bulk Upload module, the Mass Upload tab is visible as a dashboard option. The admin can configure the settings under the Mass Upload options: Uploads and Data Flow Profile.

Under the General tab, the data flow profile, select, File Type, Update new Products or Replace Old Ones, and Upload Zip File, needs to be configured.

• The admin configures the select and the Upload Images(Zip) options under the Image tab.
• The IDs of fields like Products, Catalog, Manufacturer, Filter, etc. can be retrieved under the Get ID tab.
• In the Export tab, the admin can either configure the select download type as Bulk or Selection.
• On selecting bulk, the admin can export all the products. If Selection is selected, the admin can choose the products, which he needs to export.
• The information tab includes additional information that is related to the module.

Another option of the Mass Upload tab is the Data Flow Profile. The admin can create a new Data Flow Profile. The admin has to enter the Profile Name as well as the Database name and name of the files under Manage Profile Information.

• The admin adds the name of the new Data Flow Profile.
• The name of the database and the files have to be added under Profile Information.
• This helps in mapping the files that need to be uploaded and Opencart Database.
• The products which are uploaded in bulk can be viewed under Catalog > Products.
