Description
PrestaShop Import Export - Moving products and orders in and out of your PrestaShop store manually takes time and leads to mistakes. Supplier files often arrive in CSV, Excel, or XML format, and copying data manually is where errors often occur. Import Export for PrestaShop automates this, so you can keep your catalog accurate without the manual work.
Whether you're updating 50 products or 5,000, the module works quietly in the background without slowing your store down. It handles products, customers, orders, shipping, discounts, and more — and lets you bring in data from a file on your computer, FTP, a link, Google Sheets, Google Drive, or Dropbox. You can even schedule updates to run automatically.
The module can also reshape files that don't match your store's format before importing them, so you don't have to fix them yourself. When you re-import data, it updates existing products, customers, or orders instead of creating duplicates. It's built to make routine data updates simple and dependable for store owners — no technical background needed.
Highlighted Features
16 Entity Types
Import and export products, combinations, categories, customers, addresses, brands, suppliers, discounts, carriers, orders, and more.
8 Import Methods
Bring in data via file upload, saved history, FTP, SFTP, URL, Google Sheets, Google Drive, or Dropbox — whatever suits your workflow.
7 File Formats
Works with CSV, XLS, XLSX, XML, JSON, TXT, and ODS — no conversion needed. XSLT reshapes XML feeds to fit your template.
Cron Automation
Save your import setup as a cron job that runs on its own schedule, keeping your catalog updated automatically.
Regex and Value Mapping
Clean or reformat data during import and export using regex rules or value swaps to normalize supplier data.
Image Optimization
Product images resize to 1600×1600 px and compress automatically. Also supports importing images from local server URLs.
Import Workflow
The Import tab guides you through a three-step wizard: Import settings, Mapping, and Import execution. Each step is designed to catch errors before they touch your live catalog.
- Step 1 — Import settings: Choose an entity type, pick an import method, and set options like field separator, update-by key, and brand/supplier/category filters.
- Step 2 — Mapping: The module previews your file and auto-matches columns by header name; unmatched ones fall back to sequential order. Skip rows, set a row range, or add regex and value-mapping rules before proceeding.
- Step 3 — Import execution: The module validates each row, flags invalid ones in an error report, and processes the rest in AJAX batches sized by your server offset limit. A summary shows how many records were created or updated.
Export Workflow
The Export tab pulls PrestaShop data into a structured file. Choose the entity, tick the columns you want, set the output format, and download — or have the file emailed to you automatically.
- Select any of the 16 entity types and choose specific columns to include in the export output.
- Export in CSV, XLS, XLSX, or XML format — matching whatever your downstream tool expects.
- Sort results by ID, Reference, EAN, UPC, ISBN, Supplier reference, or MPN for clean, organised files.
- Filter by date range or price range when exporting orders or products, and expand multilang fields into per-language columns.
- Apply the same regex and value-mapping rules used in import to clean data before it leaves PrestaShop.
Scheduled Imports
Once an import is set up the way you want, save it as a cron job. The module stores the entire configuration — entity, source, mapping, and transformation rules — so future runs need no manual steps.
- Add cron: Creates a new scheduled import with the same fields as the Import tab, plus a notification email address and an optional row limit per cron request.
- SActivate or deactivate jobs at any time without deleting them, and enable auto-deactivation for one-time migrations that should turn themselves off after a successful run.
- Each job respects the PrestaShop multi-store context — jobs are scoped to a specific shop or shop group.
