Odoo Braintree Payment Gateway is an Odoo module that adds Braintree to the payment options at the website checkout. Customers pay by card, and Odoo confirms the order.
Setup starts from the Braintree payment record in the Odoo backend. The admin enters the Merchant ID, the Public Key, and the Private Key taken from a Braintree merchant account.
At checkout, a card pop-up opens over the Odoo page itself. Shoppers type the card details there, and Braintree never sends them away to another website.
Settings cover 3D Secure, the payment journal, and the wording a customer reads during payment. The admin can also map a Braintree Merchant Account ID to each currency the website sells in.
Braintree serves merchants in around 40 countries and takes payments from customers in around 130 countries. Odoo records each payment it approves against the matching order.

Why Do We Need Odoo Braintree Payment Gateway?
A standard Odoo website ships with a short list of payment providers. Braintree is not one of them, so card money has to be collected through some other route.
That leaves the finance team copying payment details between two systems by hand. Orders sit unpaid in Odoo until somebody opens the gateway and marks them off.
Odoo Braintree Payment Gateway closes that gap. Braintree runs on the checkout page, and Odoo records the payment on the order as soon as the card clears.

Braintree Payment Gateway Configuration in Odoo
The admin sets up Braintree from its payment record in the Odoo backend. One form takes the account keys, decides how Odoo posts the money, and publishes the gateway on the website.

- Enter the Merchant ID, Public Key, and Private Key from the Braintree account.
