Laravel eCommerce Google Web Fonts

Laravel eCommerce Google Web Fonts removes theme edits from font changes. By default, Bagisto ships with a fixed font.

A store that wants its own brand typography has to change theme files by hand. That work needs a developer every time.

With this extension, the choice moves into the admin. Store owners can pick a custom font and apply it in a few clicks.

A real setup takes four steps: add the API key, save a font, click the check icon, and confirm with Agree.

The store gets a consistent look across pages, and the font can change again at any time without code.

Configuration & API Key

• Enable or disable the module with the Status toggle under Configure > General > Design > Web Font
• Enter a Google Fonts Developer API key, required while the module is enabled
• Generate the key with Get a Key in the Google Fonts Developer API documentation
• Use the key only on the server, so it never reaches the storefront
• Apply all settings globally to every channel and locale

Font Catalogue & Selection

• Browse the complete Google Fonts catalogue and search by family or category
• Preview each font in its own typeface, loaded only when its row scrolls into view
• Show 50 fonts per batch, with the next batch loading on scroll
• Select several fonts as removable chips and save them with Save Web Font
• Keep Save Web Font disabled until a font is selected, with a count of selected fonts
• Show a clear message when the API key is missing or the catalogue cannot be fetched

Font Activation & Management

• Activate a font with the check icon and a confirmation dialog
• Keep a single active font, deactivating the previous one automatically
• Store each font with its category, which also serves as the fallback font
• Search, sort, and filter the Web Fonts list by ID, font, and status
• Delete a single font or several fonts together with a mass action
• Return the store to its default font when the active font is deleted

Storefront & Admin Rendering

• Apply the active font to the storefront and admin panel separately
• Style body text, headings, links, lists, buttons, and form fields
• Load fonts with font-display swap and a preconnect to Google Fonts
• Render the active font without needing the API key
• Load the module's admin stylesheet only on the Web Fonts page

Performance & Caching

• Clear the full page cache when a font is activated or deleted
• Cache the Google Fonts catalogue for 24 hours and never cache a failed request
• Send no-cache headers on Web Fonts pages so the list is never stale

Security, Permissions & Localization

• Control access to Appearance > Web Font with the Web Font role permission
• Protect font activation with a CSRF-protected POST request
• Reject font names with characters that could break the injected styles
• Show the Web Fonts screens and settings in all 22 Bagisto locales

Installation & Compatibility

• Install with a single php artisan webfont:install command
• Add one google_web_fonts table, with no config/concord.php entry needed
