Payment & Shipping Restriction for Magento 2: Using Magento 2 Payment & Shipping Restriction module, the admin can assign the shipping and payment methods to products and the categories. During the checkout process, the customer can view the assigned shipping and payment methods to place an order.

What Is The Need Of This Module?
Sometimes the store owner wants to limit the use of certain shipping methods and payment methods per products and category. In default Magento, the store owner cannot restrict the shipping and payment method per product and category.
In default Magento, the store owner can only disable the shipping and payment method for the complete store. But Magento 2 Payment & Shipping methods will tailor your requirement.
Because using this module the store owner can put the restriction on the product and category level for what shipping or payment methods should be available for your customers while placing the order.
Restriction Types
The module has a two-way restriction – One on product and another one on the category -
- The shipping and payment restriction made on the product has a higher priority than that of the category.
- Display the payment and shipping methods as per the product restriction.
- If no restriction on the product, then display the payment and shipping methods as per the category restriction.
- If no restriction on both, then all the active shipping and payment methods will be available at checkout.
Set Restriction On Products
Ensure that products with special handling requirements should be delivered with the right shipping method and payment method. The admin can-
- Configure the payment and shipping methods for each product individually.
- Configure the multiple payment and shipping methods for a product.
- Restrict the payment and shipping methods for the product types – simple, configurable, virtual and downloadable.
- Restrict the shipping and payment for the products which were existing before the installation of this module.
Set Restriction On Categories
Prevent customers from using certain payment or shipping methods designated categories. The admin can -
- Configure the payment and shipping methods for each category individually.
- Configure the multiple payment and shipping methods for a category.
- Limit or grant the different payment and shipping methods for parent and the child category.
- Restrict the shipping and payment for the categories which were existing before the installation of this module.
Front-End
This module lets the admin have more advanced control at the checkout -
- The admin can conveniently choose which payment and shipping methods to assign.
- The customer can view the restricted shipping and payment methods while placing the order.
- Display common shipping and payment if the cart has multiple products.
- The extension will not create any new shipping and payment method for you.

Can the admin assign shipping and payment methods to the associated products in case of configurable product types?
Yes, the admin can assign shipping and payment methods to the associated products in case of configurable product types. If we create the new product, then parent's shipping and payment method will be applied to all the associated product.
But, if we edit the existing product then, we can select a particular shipping and payment method for the associated products also.
Can the admin restrict the shipping and payment methods for the existing products and the categories?
Yes, the admin can restrict the shipping and payment for the products and categories which were existing before the installation of this module by editing them again.
Can the admin assign the different shipping and payment methods to the parent and the child category?
Yes, the admin can assign the different shipping and payment methods to the parent and the child category.
What payment & shipping will be displayed to the customer if the product in the cart has different shipping & payment shipping methods than that of its category?
The shipping and payment restriction made on the product has a higher priority than that of categories. So, it will display the payment and shipping methods as per the product restriction.
Note: If the shipping and payment are mapped then only the mapped payment will be displayed for the respective shipping.
What if the admin doesn’t restrict any shipping and payment method for the product?
If no restriction on the product, then display the payment and shipping methods as per the category restriction. If no restriction on product and category both, then all the active shipping and payment methods will be available at checkout.
