PrestaShop Algolia Search replaces the native PrestaShop search with Algolia's hosted search engine, delivering sub-millisecond results regardless of catalog size. Whether you manage a small boutique or a large product catalog, customers get accurate, relevant results the moment they start typing — with no page reloads required. The module gives admins full control over search behavior, indexing configuration, theme appearance, and attribute mapping — all from the PrestaShop back office.

Instant Search
As customers type in the search bar, results update in real time without pressing Enter or clicking any button. Results typically appear within milliseconds, giving shoppers a fluid, uninterrupted browsing experience.
Autocomplete Suggestions
The search bar provides live suggestions covering matching products, relevant categories, and commonly searched queries. This helps customers navigate even with incomplete or misspelled input.
Faceted Filtering

Attribute Mapping
The Attribute Mapping section lets admins map PrestaShop product attributes to Algolia attributes and control whether each attribute is searchable, retrievable, or available as a facet filter. Custom ranking criteria can also be configured per attribute to improve result relevance.
PrestaShop Algolia Search Configuration
Setting up the module takes just a few steps from the Algolia Search Configuration panel in the back office.
- Enter your Algolia Application ID and API keys (Search and Admin).
- Optionally set an Index Prefix to separate this store's indices from other Algolia applications.
- Navigate to Search Settings to enable or disable instant search, autocomplete, faceted filtering, and set the number of products displayed per results page.
- Use the 'Replace Default Search' toggle to fully swap PrestaShop's native search with Algolia.
PrestaShop Algolia Indexing Settings
Control what content gets indexed in Algolia.
- Enable or disable indexing individually for products, categories, and CMS pages.
- Product indexing captures names, descriptions, prices, and images.
- Category indexing includes names and descriptions.
- After configuration, click 'Full Reindex' to push all data to Algolia. Progress is visible from the Indices Management section.
Attribute Mapping
Fine-tune how PrestaShop product data is represented in Algolia.
- Map any PrestaShop attribute to a corresponding Algolia attribute name.
- Mark attributes as Searchable to include them in query matching.
- Mark attributes as Retrievable to include them in search result data.
- Enable Facet on any attribute to make it available as a filter option on the results page.
- Set the display order for each attribute and configure custom ranking criteria to prioritize results by specific fields.
- Use 'Reset to Default' to restore the default attribute mapping at any time.
Frontend Search Experience
Once the module is active, the search bar becomes an Algolia-powered interface. Results appear as the user types, with autocomplete suggestions covering products, categories, and frequent queries. The results page displays a product grid with images, names, prices, and additional details. Faceted filters appear in the sidebar, letting users narrow results by category, attributes, manufacturer, and availability — all without reloading the page.
