What is the need for this extension?
This extension converts your online webstore into a Progressive Web App which looks and works the same as a native-like app. It can also be installed just like the other native apps so that the users can access them in one click from their home screen.
Also, there is no need to update the PWA as it’s always updated, and you can customize and make changes within the app swiftly.
As PWAs provide offline support, the users can now even interact with the app when there is low or no internet connection. The PWAs sync in the background and seamlessly do things, thereby promising a powerful app-like browsing experience to the users.
PWA Configuration
Before using the mobile PWA version of your website, the admin will have to configure the Progressive Web App configuration settings from the admin backend panel.
After a successful setup, the customers will be able to access the PWA on their mobile apps and experience the rewards of using the same. Here, the admin will -
- Enter the name of the Progressive Web App.
- Set the short name for the PWA app shortcut on the mobile device after installation.
- Set the theme color of the PWA.
- Choose the background color of the PWA.
- Enter the app endpoint for accessing the PWA on mobile devices.
- Upload the app logo for the PWA along with different App icon dimensions.
Banner Creation
Banners are custom image-based banners that can be added by the admin. The admin can add multiple numbers of banners as required. The admin can also find all of the created banners and can edit/delete them as required. The admin can add the banner by -
- Tapping the add slider button option.
- Enabling the banner by using the toggle button.
- Uploading an image for the slider.
- Adding a link for the banner where the customer gets redirected after tapping the slider banner.
- Lastly, tap the save button to save the banner for the slider.
Top Categories
The top categories can also be used to promote specific categories. These categories contain multiple numbers of products. On the PWA shop-page end user can view the top categories set by the admin of the site from the backend. The admin of the website will be able to -
- Add multiple top categories for the PWA.
- Tap the add category button to add a new top category.
- Enable the category.
- Select the category to make it a top category for the PWA home page.
- Upload the category icon that is visible on the PWA home page.
- Lastly, tap the save button to save the top category.
Push Notifications
PWAs now provide the feature that only the native apps would be able to provide earlier like the push notifications. The admin can find a list of added notifications for the PWA. The admin can add/delete and send notifications in bulk by selecting the notifications first and then choosing the respective option from the ‘Actions‘ drop-down.

Headless PWA
PWA headless is the most prominent advancement in the e-Commerce industry. Here the fetching of data uses API which makes it more advance. It follows the decoupling approach wherein the frontend is not intact with the backend. It will allow the owner to refresh the design without re-implementing the whole content.
Headless PWA (Progressive Web Applications) uses web compatibilities to provide fast, reliable and engaging mobile application experience to your users, even in uncertain network conditions. Headless PWA is bridging the gap between mobile apps and websites effectively.
- Low development cost
- An app like look and feel
- Fast installation
- Better performance
- No manual updates required
