The Magento 2 IP Geolocation Plugin detects the customers’ location based on their IP addresses and automatically redirects the customer to the relevant store view as per their country.
For example:- The U.S customer, while navigating to your website, automatically comes to the U.S store view and sees products in USD currency. The extension also limits the customers to get access to the website by blocking their IP addresses due to some regional & security policies.
The customers coming from restricted countries are redirected to the Specific URL set by the admin. In short, customers have specific demands, views and shopping behaviors and therefore, redirecting them to their relevant store will definitely help to enhance customer experience and also to deliver a convenient shopping experience to them.
Allow Customers To Switch Store View & Currency
- Allow or restrict the customer to change their store view.

The admin will map the store views with various countries & after that customer coming up from these countries will come under the effect of automatic location detection.
Can we block multiple IPs’?
Yes, you just need to enter the IPs’, separating them by commas & need to enter the URL at which the customer will get redirected afterwards.
Can we restrict the customer to view only one store view and currency?
Yes, the admin can set the location & currency change option to “Restrict” which results in restricting the customer to stick to only one store view and currency.
Is there any way by which the admin can restrict the user to view specific content type?
Yes. The admin can restrict products, category & URLs’ from the customers accessing the website from various countries and also can add a URL to which users will redirect if they try to access the restricted product, category or URL
