Ironman Triathlon is one of the most difficult sports events in the world consisting of a 2.4-mile swim, a 112-mile bicycle ride, and a marathon 26.22-mile run. The event is now known as Ironman World Championships.

The championship originally started in 1978 in Hawaii from the shores of Waikiki by the duo John Collins and his wife Judy. Ironman represents a group of ambitious and courageous people who push their limits and get out of their comfort zone.

Apart from the world's most competitive challenging event, the website also hosts an online shop selling apparel and gear. The online shop built on the Magento platform provides a wide range of products available for various countries.

It becomes indispensable for a brand like Ironman to offer products with a detailed description of products along with custom features to its customers. Creating more than 1000 products and managing them is not a big deal in Magento, but when it comes to managing a particular feature of a particular product, things become more tedious.

Magento is one of the most widely used eCommerce platforms which allows easy check-in and check out to the customers with the ultimate browsing experience. But to manage product information, Ironman got their back with Akeneo PIM software. From Akeneo, they were easily uploading products and enriching the products with descriptions, attributes, custom features, assigning to multiple categories and so on.

Once the product information has been harmonised, they need to export the products back to their Magento store. This is where they got their hands on Webkul's Magento 2 Akeneo Connector.

With the connector, they can easily connect their Magento 2 Store with Akeneo, create separate export job profiles and export the product back to their store.

Apart from exporting products, Webkul also developed the import functionality to import products from Magento Store to Akeneo. This vastly reduced the use of CSV/XLS files which ultimately saved their time of getting the enriched product live on the store. Now, with the help of the connector, they can perform both import and export operations between Magento 2 Store and Akeneo.

Jordan Schinella, the Global IT Manager of Ironman praised Webkul for their quick response and resolution of the connector issues.
