Magento 2 B2B Marketplace is a Magento extension that creates an online platform for business buyers and suppliers. They connect and trade with each other around the globe.

You can convert your Magento (Adobe Commerce) store into a B2B marketplace like Alibaba, Indiamart, ThomasNet, or EC21.

Built-in B2B commerce features include a separate supplier microsite, request a quote, quick order, contact supplier, and supplier reviews.

Suppliers register with a shop name and shop URL, then run their business from a supplier dashboard.

Buyers open a supplier microsite, send an inquiry, or request a quote. They can also add many products at once through Quick Order and finish approved quotes with Add to Cart.

Additionally, if you want more features in your B2B marketplace, the extension supports a huge list of Magento 2 Marketplace Add-ons.

Highlighted Features of Magento 2 B2B Marketplace

     B2B Bulk Ordering

Business buyers place bulk orders through Quick Order, and suppliers manage a large number of SKUs.

     Product Type Restriction

Admins select the product types that suppliers can add, such as simple, downloadable, configurable, and virtual.

     Order Approval

When the admin sets Order Approval to Yes, suppliers see an order only after the admin reviews it.

     Low Stock Alerts

With a low stock quantity set by the admin, suppliers receive an email when product stock runs low.

     Supplier Review Settings

Only buyers who purchased from a supplier can review that supplier, when the admin enables the purchase-only option.

     Quotation Management

Customers request a quote for any quantity of a product, and the supplier can approve or reject it.

Why Do We Need Magento 2 B2B Marketplace?

Magento is built for stores that sell their own products to shoppers. A B2B marketplace needs many suppliers, and each one needs a shop, a catalog, and a way to talk to business buyers.

Without a marketplace layer, the store team adds suppliers by hand and answers quote requests and product questions over email. Every new supplier adds more manual work.

Magento 2 B2B Marketplace gives each supplier a registration form, a dashboard, and a microsite. Buyers use Quick Order, Request a Quote, and Message Supplier without leaving the store.

Before suppliers list anything, the admin sets allowed product types, product approval, order approval, and the low stock quantity for email alerts.

Also, if you want a mobile app for your B2B marketplace, you can check Magento 2 B2B Vendor Mobile App.

Magento 2 B2B Marketplace Use Cases

    • Build a Trade Portal

Run a marketplace like Alibaba, Indiamart, ThomasNet, or EC21, where suppliers open shops and business buyers browse and contact them.

    • Healthcare and Hygiene Supply

Kimberly-Clark Professional Brasil built a B2B healthcare marketplace on Magento 2 with Webkul Marketplace. Read the Kimberly-Clark case study.

    • Construction Materials Procurement

Stockpile connects construction material suppliers and contractors on Adobe Commerce. Read the Stockpile case study.

    • Vehicle Lease Marketplace

SNB Alahli runs an auto lease marketplace in Saudi Arabia where customers browse and lease cars from many dealerships. Read the SNB Alahli case study.

    • Source Products with Buying Leads

Buyers send one request for listed or unlisted products, and the request goes to suppliers by category.

    • Repeat Bulk Orders

Buyers add many products by name or SKU in the Quick Order form, set quantities, and go straight to checkout.

     Supplier Registration & Verification

Suppliers get their own login and registration section on the storefront. Registration takes a name, email, password, contact information, and address.

After email verification, a supplier becomes a Premium Supplier and receives a verified badge. Admins approve or disapprove supplier accounts.

    • Separate login and registration for suppliers
    • Set a shop name and a custom shop URL at registration
    • Verify the supplier email to receive the verified supplier badge
    • Approve or disapprove supplier accounts from the admin panel
    • Customize the landing page layout, banner, title, button labels, feature icons, and terms URL

Magento 2 Social Login* lets customers use their existing social networking credentials to log in to your B2B marketplace quickly.

It supports login from Facebook, Twitter, Google, LinkedIn, and Instagram. *Sold separately.

    Supplier Registration & Verification

     Supplier Dashboard

A supplier dashboard shows business performance in metrics and graphs. Suppliers use them to check sales and improve operations.

Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) measure the sales and revenue of the supplier.

    • Top-selling products and top-selling categories
    • Customers count and order status
    • Lifetime sales and total payout
    • Recent activities and supplier reviews
    • Create invoices, shipments, and credit memos, and add carrier names and tracking numbers

Magento 2 Advanced Report System Marketplace Add-on* gives suppliers detailed reports by category, order status, date interval, sellers, and geolocation. *Sold separately.

    Supplier Dashboard

     Supplier Microsite

Each supplier gets an exclusive microsite with separate pages for products, reviews, contacts, and policies. Suppliers can add or edit this information at any time.

You can also maintain supplier information and inventory purchase order information with Magento 2 ERP Extension.

    • Supplier profile page with company name, ratings, address, and contact details
    • Featured products section on the supplier profile
    • Product collection page with navigation filters and grid or list layout
    • Supplier reviews and ratings from buyers
    • Company information, overview, certification, and social media links
    • Shipping and return policy details, plus a supplier contact card
    Supplier Microsite

    Supplier Subdomain

Supplier Subdomain lets each supplier use a subdomain or domain of their own. Buyers open the shop and purchase products directly from microsite URLs under that domain.

Webkul includes the Vendor Sub-Domain module with the extension.

    • Set the Subdomain URL prefix in the module settings. The shop URL comes from the Shop URL entered at supplier registration.
    • Give each supplier a domain for every store view. The admin provides the domain for each view.
    • Show admin products on the supplier page with the Display Admin Product On Category Page option.
    • Create separate microsite URLs for the profile, collection, location, and feedback pages under the supplier domain.
    Supplier Subdomain

     Message Supplier

Business customers can find the right supplier and ask a quick question. Both sides can send messages with file attachments.

    • Send an inquiry to a supplier
    • View the supplier response rate and response time
    • Attach files to messages
    • Use the supplier-customer messaging system for replies
    • Receive an email notification for each new message and reply

For more messaging options, check our Magento 2 Buyer Seller Communication Marketplace Add-on. It adds Contact Seller links, conversation history, and status tracking.

    Message Supplier

    Request a Quote

A customer sends a quote request to a supplier with a detailed description and the expected price. Customers find the option on the supplier microsite, and can also send a quick request from the product page.

Buying Leads send one Request for Quote for listed or unlisted products to several suppliers by category. Customers find it in the website header and track every request under My Requested Quotes.

    • Add sample product images to the request
    • Enter a quote description with a subject title and contact information
    • The supplier approves or rejects a quote
    • The customer messages the supplier during negotiation
    • Complete approved quotes with Add to Cart

If you want the admin to choose automatic or manual RFQ approval, check our Magento 2 Marketplace Request For Quotation (RFQ) add-on.

    Request a Quote

     Quick Order

Quick Order lets a customer buy products without visiting each product page. In the quick order form, the customer searches by product name or SKU, sets the quantity, and goes straight to checkout.

Add Row adds more products to the form. Checkout then follows the standard Magento steps of choosing a shipping address and a payment method.

    • Find products using the product name
    • Find products using the SKU
    • Set the quantity and add more rows with Add Row
    • View the sub-total and discounts
    • Estimate shipping and taxes before checkout
    Quick Order

Frequently Asked Questions - Magento 2 B2B Marketplace

What is Magento 2 B2B Marketplace and how does it work?
Magento 2 B2B Marketplace is an extension that turns a Magento store into a B2B marketplace. Suppliers register and get a microsite, and business buyers order through Quick Order, ask for quotes, and message suppliers.

How is this module different from the regular Webkul Marketplace Multi-Vendor for Magento 2?
Magento 2 B2B Marketplace is meant for business buyers and sellers where bulk ordering is done. Webkul Marketplace Multi-Vendor for Magento 2 is meant for the retail customer segment. See the difference between B2B vs B2C Marketplace.

Can suppliers have their own microsite, and what does the URL look like?
Yes, every supplier gets a microsite with a separate shop URL, which the supplier sets at registration. The microsite address follows the format shopurl.example.com, and each store view can use its own supplier domain.

     How does Quick Order work?
A customer searches for products by name or SKU, sets the quantity, and clicks Add Row to add more products. The customer then checks the sub-total and continues with the standard Magento checkout.

How do Request a Quote and Buying Leads work?
A customer sends a quote request from a product page or supplier microsite, and the supplier approves or rejects it. With Buying Leads, one request goes to several suppliers by category, and every request appears under My Requested Quotes.

What can the admin control before suppliers start selling?
The admin selects the product types and categories suppliers can use, and decides whether products, product updates, and orders need approval. Suppliers cannot add, edit, or modify store categories, and the storefront shows only categories where a supplier has listed products.

Can I install a third-party theme with this extension?
Yes, Magento 2 B2B Marketplace supports third-party themes, such as the Xtremo Theme by Webkul. For layout issues, write to [email protected].

Can I add extra fields to the customer registration form?
Yes, the Magento 2 Custom Registration Field extension creates multiple types of form fields for the customer form and sets their visibility.

     Does it support other languages?
Yes, the extension supports multiple languages, such as Arabic, German, Spanish, and Portuguese. The i18n folder has a CSV file for translating the words from English to the language you choose.

Can I customize the module for my requirements?
Yes, the source code is open for customization work. Email [email protected] and share your workflow and design.

Do I get updates for the module, and for how long?
Webkul offers free lifetime updates on every module. Take a backup of your data before updating, and email [email protected] with the Order ID of your purchase to get the latest stable zip file.
