Odoo Shift Key Selection is an Odoo module that adds Shift-key range selection to the list view. Users select a group of consecutive records with two clicks instead of ticking each row.
Many users already know this Shift-click habit from file managers and spreadsheets. A user selects the start record, holds the Shift key on the keyboard, and then clicks the end record of the group.
Every row between those two records is selected at once, including both end rows. Users can then work with multiple records in that block without checking each checkbox along the way.
By default, an Odoo list view lets a user tick records one at a time or select all rows together. Range selection fills the gap when only a part of a long list is needed.
Store teams get the most value in lists that hold thousands of entries, such as sales orders or products. Version 1.0 of the module lists support for Odoo 8.x to 20.x on the store page.

Why Do We Need Odoo Shift Key Selection?
Odoo Shift Key Selection fills a gap in the standard list view, which offers only single-row checkboxes and a select-all option.
When a list holds thousands of sales orders or products, picking a few consecutive entries means ticking each row by hand. The work is slow and a missed checkbox is easy to overlook.
With the module installed, a user clicks the start record, holds Shift, and clicks the end record. Odoo then selects every row in between, so the whole range is ready in two clicks.
Selecting rows 120 to 180 in a sales order list takes 61 checkbox clicks by default. A Shift-click range does the same job with only two clicks.

Select Consecutive Rows with the Shift Key
A Shift-click range lets a user select multiple consecutive rows in the Odoo list view. Two clicks mark the start and the end of the range, and Odoo selects the rest.
- Open the Odoo menu you want to work in and switch to the list view.
- Select the first data record of the range with its row checkbox.
- Press and hold the Shift button on the keyboard before the next click.
- Select the last data record of the range while Shift is still held down.
- All records between the two selected rows are selected together in one step.
Bulk Select Sales Orders in List View
Sales Orders lists grow to thousands of entries in an active Odoo database. With Shift key selection, a sales user picks a consecutive block of orders from that list in two clicks.
- Open Sales and view the orders in the Odoo list view layout.
- Tick the checkbox of the first sales order in the block you need.
- Hold Shift and tick the checkbox of the last sales order in that block.
- Every sales order listed between the two clicked rows is selected at once.
Range Selection in the Odoo Products List
Product catalogs in Odoo often run to thousands of records in a single list. With the Shift key, a catalog manager selects a group of neighbouring products without ticking each product.
- Open the Products menu and switch the records to the list view.
- Select the first product of the group with its row checkbox.
- Hold the Shift key and select the last product of the same group.
- All products shown between those two rows are selected together at once.
Install the Module from the Odoo Apps Menu
Installation follows the usual Odoo add-on steps from the Apps menu. After purchase, Webkul sends a link to download the module as a zip file.
- Extract the zip file and find the folder named odoo_shift_key_selection.
- Copy and paste the odoo_shift_key_selection folder into your Odoo add-ons path.
- Open Settings and click Activate the Developer Mode in your Odoo database.
- Open the Apps menu and click Update Modules List (Update Apps List in Odoo 19) to load the module.
- Remove all filters, search odoo_shift_key_selection, and click Install (Activate in Odoo 19) on the result.
