Magento 2 PhonePe Payment Gateway integrates the PhonePe payment gateway into the Magento 2 store. This provides customers with a safe and secure payment gateway to pay for the orders they’ve placed in the store.
The PhonePe payment gateway is PCI-DSS compliant and offers data encryption, FRA capabilities, and internal audits. Thus, helping it to provide 100% secure transactions. To pay for an order, customers are redirected to a 3D Secure page to process the transaction. The admin can also refund the payment using PhonePe.
Please note that the payment gateway accepts all currencies however the transactions are processed in INR only currently.

After successful installation of the Magento 2 PhonePe Payment Gateway, the admin has to configure the extension from the backend. They have the following settings available -
- Enable/Disable the extension.
- Set the title of the gateway which will be visible on the front end.
- Input the Merchant ID, Salt Key & Salt Index values.
- Option to choose to accept payments from specific or all allowed countries.
- Set the sort order of the payment gateway.
PhonePe Gateway
When the customers select the PhonePe payment gateway to pay for their orders, they’ll be redirected to a 3D secure payment page. Here, they can -
- Scan a QR code to pay with any UPI application.
- Manually enter the UPI ID for payment.
- Enter Credit/Debit card details for payment through card.
- Select Net Banking and choose from the available banks to process the payment.
Process Online Refund
Adobe Commerce PhonePe Payment gateway provides the online refund functionality to store admin. They can do the following -
- Refund will be done through online process.
- Refund amount is transferrd to source account.
- Provide refund against a particular order invoice.
